    Solution found! USB wifi dongles work perfectly in the initial live mode.

    It is truly weird though, that internal wifi doesn’t seem to be recognized with the very first dd, yet after an actual install it does. I netnuked the configs and played around, but lost interest and the slacker took over.

    I suppose this usb dongle workaround is only meant to be temporary with the raw release until you create your first “mylivecd” snapshot iso, which works as expected if you boot that new stick.

    I tested a handful of D-link, Panda, TP-Link usb dongles from dinky “slimfit” types to the honkers with antennas. Picks ’em right up. Not the end of the world, since what portable user doesn’t have their favorite usb-wifi dongle in the kit bag! 🙂
