I left Adobe more than fifteen years ago. Any suggestions I would make would be ill informed for I am unfamiliar with the current Adobe products. I have come across reddit posts, youtube videos, and so forth discussing alternatives. Unfortunately, didn’t bookmark them.

On gimp, there is PhotoGIMP for configuring the gimp UI to align with Adobe Photoshop. Never used it so no idea if it is worth a look but wish it had existed when I made the move to gimp. The new release of gimp 3 took way too long but loving it. No idea if v3 is available in the Debian repos–I built my own.
