There IS something in the startup that is DELAYING the presentation of the Window Manager. On my system, there’s a colorful phrase with IceWM that shows up – until the window manager finishes it’s preparation. I’ve got a reasonably responsive system; it probably takes triple the usual time but it does come up; remember, we ARE testing 🙂
