Well for one I have been very happy with all but one of the inits
S6 was a bit unripe.

Favorite has become s6 rc.

Back OT, I would happily give updates of the inits a test running live,
if it works ok repeated tests. If all runs well enough I can do a fresh
install on a spare core2 duo device and again update.

Just need to know where to find the updated packages.

I agree a beginner would be lost if an update failed, more experienced
users can rollback on live or (most likely) repair using the antiX chroot
tool.

In the end the only way to know how safe an update is is try and see what
happens.
