Just yesterday my server course teacher was showing me how to use Tailscale.

The purpose of Tailscale is to allow normal people to connect their computer to a home server or NAS without having public IPs.

My professor also keeps the computers turned off except for a RaspberryPI (with Debian) which he uses to turn on what he needs through magic packet only when needed, saving electricity.

Via Tailscale the professor showed us his home Proxmox with virtual machines installed.

Through Tailscale’s web interface you can see which computers on your home network are turned on in real time.

For free you can have up to three users, but one is enough.
