Reply To: Xorg is dead. Long live XLibre

For those who might want to try… here is what I have run and my very early results.

Here is what I ran- a tiny script:

sudo apt install -y extrepo
sudo extrepo enable xlibre
sudo apt update
sudo apt install xlibre

wmctrl and xprop are working for me on dwm right now (on debian test). Rofi, xsetroot,dmenu, j4dmenu-desktop, nitrogen, feh, xterm, firefox-esr, llama.cpp, recoll, thunderbird, geany, nvidia-vram, nano, maestral, mullvad-vpn are all working thus far. I think we have a decently functional environment for dwm. I’ll keep my testing going.

I have the following for rollback if I need it… I have not thus far needed it. If you do, I apologize in advance if it doesn’t work well for you. I do guarantee it to be worth every penny you paid for it though. ;^)

sudo rm -f /etc/apt/sources.list.d/xlibre-deb.sources
sudo apt update
sudo apt install --reinstall xserver-xorg-core xserver-xorg-legacy xserver-xorg-input-all xserver-xorg-video-all
sudo apt install --reinstall xserver-xorg
sudo apt autoremove
sudo reboot
