    ADDENDUM: Do you have BOTH PulseAudio AND Pipewire installed? If so, I would remove one or the other.

    A couple of other things:

    (1) Your mic boost is set very high. I saw a post in the Linux Mint forum where the problem of a muted microphone was fixed after DECREASING the mic boost to less than 51. (On my system, both mic and mic boost are set at 53.)

    (2) A thread on a ubuntu forum (http://askubuntu.com/questions/259671/cant-unmute-with-alsamixer) provided the following solution:

    “By using the Pulseaudio Command Line Interface we will get the index of available sinks

    pacmd list-sinks

    We then can unmute the sink with

    pacmd set-sink-mute <index> 0”

    If this works, but the problem returns with each reboot, then doing “sudo alsactl store” after fixing it may make it permanent.
