Downloaded the 2 new isos. 32 bit and 64 bit. Updated both the same using sysvinit boot.
Felt pretty confident since updates were the same and not so many.
Live usb maker now works on both installs.
I usually use the format usb function 1st so to not induce variables on something not working.
