Over some years of trials and usage, the safest and most efficient and easy way to transfer settings
and have a backup has been to keep a tested personal copy of the running system on a USB stick with no
persistance. Update it running live, and personal remaster as needed.
You can use it to fix your or other installs in case of issues, copy over config files to a fresh install
or reinstall as neded.
The live system can easily be cloned or a version made without personal data to pass on, all you need
is included in antiX tools
Use high quality USB Siicks, keep a backup on a HDD, preferably an older one they have less issues with
forgetfullness than modern high density drives..
Keep your backups in different places and away from prying eyes and kids.
