As I revamped my setup I managed to find a few more alias discrepancies between the old instance and the new one, caused by software that has either changed, moved, or been removed. Along the way, I’ve found some GitHub instances of a few editors that result in newer images, and in at least one case, the altered image runs better and faster.
Levee (called lev in the newer “Version 4).
Incidentally, Levee was originally a VERY EARLY rewrite of the original vi – early enough that it was written for small computers using Pascal. It isn’t a 100% pure vi since it’s a rewrite. The version I obtained has had the benefit of numerous reworks and from what I can tell it’s a significant improvement over the previous Version 3.5 that has been available in the Debian repos, at least in the past. So that was a nice upgrade. I also picked up a clean, fast version of micro too, along with zee mentioned in my previous note.
