    Maybe consider having runit-antix installed as the condition to remove the scripts (if you still believe this is necessary)

    eg

    if [ $(apt list --installed | grep -ic "runit-antix") -eq 1 ]; then  
  #remove /etc/init.d/connman if it exists since we are using runit-antix
  if [ -f /etc/init.d/connman ]; then 
      rm /etc/init.d/connman
  fi

    This would aslo allow the user to use the debian version of runit (instead of antiX) even without init-diversity in the picture.
