I just thought of another way to overcome the connman update problem: get a very up to date sysvinit snapshot, including custom apps and aliases, snapshot it, then run the bash init-diversity script.
Until a safe solution to prevent various init.d directory services removed is created, either a backup of every service is necessary for every change or a new base snapshot followed by a new run of the script is needed. Unless the actual risk of repeating the problems is low, this is going to be difficult to keep fully functional.
Thoughts on improving the stability of the situation or relieving these concerns?
