The conflict is too complex to position oneself with any flag.
Maybe it shouldn’t be treated as a position, but as a reminder. A reminder that just ignoring things is not an acceptable option.
In the end, any symbol (including words) is going to be misunderstood and is never enough to get real meaning across if it’s considered nothing but a “statement.”
