When installing antix23-desktop-files package on antiX 23 base, make sure to have fully upgraded your system, in particular the desktop-menu-antix package. There was a bug in the script, causing new installed programs to be not provided with the antiX specific desktop files by the desktop-menu hook, instead the script aborted halfways done. This was fixed not long ago, see http://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/applications-submenu-translation-lost-after-antix-23-update/ for details.
Seems the fix didn’t make it still into the apt-repos, while it is already four months merged at gitlab (I get currently still 0.2.3 from apt which is internal version 0.30 of the desktop-menu script. So please download manually the latest version from https://gitlab.com/antiX-Linux/desktop-menu-antix/-/blob/master/bin/desktop-menu and copy the file into /usr/local/bin. It should show the internal version 0.31 in its header lines. See whether this helps fixing your issue.
