UPDATE

I changed the command from -vid=no to –vid=no and now is much improved.

There is much less terminal output, and the mpv window no longer opens – so lighter on resources – it still suffers a considerable delay before the music starts. For comparison, my terminal output is now:

Note .. Although the terminal prompt appears twice in the output, I only entered the first command and sat back.
