Capitalism used to ‘pride’ itself on a ‘race to the top’.
Now, as everyone can see, it is a ‘race to the bottom’.
Mediocrity reigns supreme.
It is to make everybody feel included; which is a noble goal but it does not exactly motivate to strive for the highest performance.
(And I admit I am getting somewhat lazier myself…)

These day, other often forget about hard facts, it’s more about (interpretations and) feelings; that’s what decides election anyway. 🙁

Hi Robin, all the work at many universitys is now online, thesis and other papers are uploaded.
That on the other hand should simplify cross-checking; the university I studied (waaaay back before the AI boom) had a tool to compare your work with other resources (I do not know the details) for plagiarism.
Then there are webs that offer providing, ahem, let’s say a paid “reference” research summary for your studies, whatever degree. (That’s capitalism too!)
Both schools and universitys will need to go back to exams in hardened rooms and with only books and tagged calculators allowed, when laptops are in use all internet access blocked.
Good idea; I like that very much!
