@rokytnji some of these “general purpose” weather forecast tools are just that, “general purpose”. It’s really necessary to have good, local “meteorologists”, weather forecasters that can interpret the weather.
TWO days in a row we’ve had less than a 50% chance of rain, yet two days in a row we’ve had some short, but fairly intense rain storms, so that’s why I suggest that qualified people have to review this data.
Oh boy! I was looking for the letters and numbers that good forecasters can interpret; instead, I found stuff about REAL meteors supposedly spotted!

Wrong spelling; this is it:
“METAR (METeorological Aviation Report) reports weather information for an airport.”
“TAF (Terminal Aerodrome Forecast) reports weather forecast information. They are valid for 30 hours and are generally issued every 6 hours.”
So there you go! The Plymouth State Weather Center at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, New Hampshire, about 40 minutes from the area I once lived in, has a program of study in this area; I’ve been reading their forecasts since the 1990s. https://vortex.plymouth.edu/
So I’m going to do more checking of WYFF, Channel 4, Greenville, SC to get better weather forecasts because these people, #1, have degrees in both Weather Science and in Communications, because they intended to be radio and/or television weather personalities. Chris Justice is one of our local weather experts. His extended family owns an apple orchard on the North/South Carolina border, so they also watch and know weather as farmers of the land; Chris took that interest, got degrees in broadcast communications and weather; that’s how you get the best forecasts.
