I just followed your instructions to identify the fan, but none of the three “cooling devices” identified as a fan. Two were labelled “processor” and the third was labelled lcd.
Just now, the fan seems to have started up, rather noisily with obvious warm air coming out the vent. The core temperatures have dropped down to the 50s. Wonder if this was somehow triggered by running the /sys/class/thermal/cooling_device command.
Perhaps, the fan isn’t starting because of dust. I will report back after at least opening the case and seeing if a cleaning seems to prevent recurrence. (Hear that, Xunzi?)
