    Hi to anti-apXos, Xunzi, rokytnji and wildstar84

    Today, with the restart, the fan works automatically. YAY. However, the temperatures are higher than yesterday, running in the 60s now, but did go up into the 80s earlier.

    The fan icon is displaying – which it wasn’t before, and I have the impression that it is blowing warm air out the vent.

    Running the sensors command, displays a connection to a fan and the core and “regular” temperatures (26 degrees C).

    So a software issue has been fixed.

    Now the likely dust bunnies and dry paste need to be dealt with…

    The dust is likely to be easy, assuming I don’t have to take everything apart again to get at
    it.

    The repasting will certainly involve more effort.

    I will seek the original disassembly instructions from years ago first.

    In the fullness of time I shall follow up.

    ** At this same time, my USB wifi device seems to have stopped working. Can’t see why it would be related, but open to be enlightened,
