If that was included in antix-25-full and available in Control Centre, it would be great.

As the antiX Control Center isn’t fit for Bento antiX (I would love it, but using other tools than the ones needed for jwm/fluxbox/rox environments, it can’t fit in a CC so far), I would find it great to just have a working package for Zram : agnostic that is.
1) what didn’t work for me:
I would install the zram packages, initiate zram manually, then it was working and after reboot : not anymore.
2) I created scripts that work, and added an “on/off” switch which is a small and light GUI made with YAD (Yet Another Dialog). I had a hard time making it work, but finally it did the job out of the box. The on/off switch had been a request in another community long ago, and I thought it was a good idea to add one, while I was at it.
3) I put up a Makefile allowing to install and uninstall the content of the bundle in the Zram-antiX subdirectory.
4) After building Bento antiX i486 on the antiX core 32bits sysvinit edition, I worked on a 64bits from an MX respin, as I was curious about it. I finished yesterday, and realized their Zram works (provided the package zramswap-sysvinit-compat is installed along the zram-tools package). They also have a udisks2-zram package, I have no idea in what context it can be useful.
But it creates only one block device for all cores (in my VM there were 2 virtual cores).
It made me wonder about that until I read the last post from @anti-apXos yesterday: “Both your posted script and the one in antix-goodies create a separate zram device per CPU, which hasn’t been necessary for over 10 years. Since kernel 3.15, the zram module supports multiple compression streams to one device and by default creates one stream per cpu core.“
I don’t mind having a Zram setup which would create only one block device for all cores if it is more fit to today’s use.
I also tried using the “on/off” setup in this MX respin, it didn’t work and I didn’t consider working more on it for the time being.
5) Would you consider trying to find why the Zram packages from the antiX repositories don’t restart the zram init script after reboot in my respin? Would you eventually be willing to port the “on/off” script to your next Zram setup?
I have worked hard on this Zram setup, without real knowledge in development. I went a lot with external help and trials and errors, until it worked flawlessly. I am saying that so you know I would really appreciate the help there, and maybe have part of the work I did be reused and benefit the official editions?
