    Hello Brian,

    I have three USB sticks: antiX 23.2 Full, antiX 23.2 full with Openbox and antiX 23.2 Base. The one with Openbox is an iso written with Live USB Maker. This is the system I prefer and the one installed in the Dell XPS 9350 which is my everyday laptop I use.This machine was purchased in 2016 and has UEFI. It works wonderfully well.

    The second machine is a Samsung purchased in 2014. I tried to install each of the three OS with their corresponding USB sticks in it and none worked.The Samsung doggedly asked for boot repair.

    The HP MINI is the oldest one and has no UEFI. I was able to install Base and is working properly. The other two OS refused to install and the resulting screen was the blank one with the blinking cursor.

    All sticks, either downloaded or written were checked with sha256 and md5 sums.

    It looks like the installation of Core changed something inside that prevents going on with the installation unless grub is repaired in the Samsung. Something similar should have happened in the HP which curiously allows the installation of Base but rejects all others.
