As I see it, people always want antiX to fit their exact needs (or their users). If Base does not support priting and bluetooth out of the box, then use Full and remove LibreOffice, keeping all the under the hood packages that are needed for a full blown use of the OS…
This script is a great idea, but I’ve yet to test it.
Suggestion: include it in Base, with a desktop entry that displays a yad window, informing what the script does, before running the script itself. This would be precious for the careless users that download and install Base by mistake (that happened to me once, some years ago) – this would save the work of having to install Full.
I can see the point of someone with Base needing stuff that’s on Full (ex: they find out they can’t print, or use Bluetooth or a myriad of other things). I don’t see a use case where users already have Full and think “What I really, really need is an OS with LESS capabilities”. I’m sure that’s a thing in some very fringe cases when saving 100K of RAM usage is important – but I have a 1GB 32bits laptop and a 1GB 64bits sing core netbook – I’ve always ran Full on them. That’s what for me is the bare minimum to use antiX comfortably: 1 GB. With less than that you can’t use a modern GUI browser comfortably. Computers with less than 1GB of RAM in 2025 are harder and harder to find… I can probably use something with have a Gig of RAM, just for writing, for example… or listening to music, for example.
