The two primary files containing information in the /etc directory are antix-version
and debian_version. (That is, IN ADDITION to the /etc/lsb-release file).

The file that’s historically been around in the /etc directory is “issue”;
my modified version has issue, issue.dpkg-dist, and issue.net.dpkg-dist.

The issue file contains:

“Welcome to antiX 23.2 (Arditi del Popolo) 64-bit! Powered by Debian.

For command line install, login as root (password=root).
Enter the command cli-installer. Follow the instructions.
Use the command antiX-cli-cc for easy access to many commands.”

I reiterate that all of these files are simple text files.
The only thing they affect is the output of various commands indicating
which release(s) are listed – the antiX release and the Debian release.
The only function of these files is therefore informational.
