I tried several things and I tried them more than once. This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues
with their setup, though it’s usually when it’s live. That tells me that some service isn’t getting
started or restarted in the live configuration. I checked the kernel running and it’s new enough
to support the system I’m using. I’ll keep the stick for now; maybe it’ll work better on another
system or when I can actually install it. I don’t want to install it on my main system because
I have the distributions I choose to use on a regular basis there.
As for logging in and out, and also for rebooting, I’ve tried that, and I’ve experimented with as
many settings in the network manager as I can think of, toggling various things and still nothing
activated my WiFi. I’m thinking, since a WiFi connection wasn’t included in the default setup,
that the complete configuration for WiFi wasn’t properly enabled in the live instance. Oh well!
