    The Control Centre entry to edit the Conky config runs the command

    desktop-defaults-run -te $HOME/.conkyrc

    You can try running that line in a terminal to see if it gives an error message. Maybe you don’t have a default text editor chosen in Preferred Applications?

    For your initial problem, if I recall, MX uses a different version of Conky and the config files are not compatible with the antiX version.
