When I read this news, I thought that this is hardly news at all.
Artix made a decision to be systemd-free in terms of not using that init system, but it does not mind using elogind.
That is how they were able to ship a Gnome version.
antiX made a decision to be systemd-free and elogind-free. That is why we do not support Gnome, KDE and other desktop environments.
We have managed to support a few DE such as MATE, XFCE, LXDE, LXQT, Cinnamon without needing any elogind at all.
