GNOME/libadwaita apps look terrible outside of GNOME, if you ask me, especially if you’re not using a compositor. The antix-25 alpha has a bunch of them installed like celluloid, file-roller, transmission (GTK4), and they just look awful. Big dumb CSD UIs that don’t follow the system theme and weird buggy looking black boxes around the menus.
If these end up in the final antix-25, they’ll be the first things I uninstall and replace with Gtk3 or Qt alternatives.
Xine-ui is on antiX-25-alpha as a possible replacement for celluloid (or should we use vlc)?
file-roller can be replaced by Xarchiver.
I can’t find a good replacement for simple-scan.
transmission can be replaced with any other gui app – any suggestions?
Would gscan2pdf do the job ?
