Reply To: Herbstluftmw autostart wont load with SDDM

Create a new file inside /usr/share/xsessions/ named xxx-hebs.desktop

The contents could be something similar to:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=custom-herbs
Comment=Using the awesome desktop-session to launch herbstluftwm
Exec=desktop-session herbstluftwm
Type=Application

This will force ddm to start herbstluftwm with antiX’s session manager named desktop-session. So remember to now select custom-herbs in the ddm desktop selection menu.

WARNING: Never launch this option from slimski.

EDIT: if it doesn’t work, you can change the Exec entry to find the full path of desktop-session
Exec=/usr/local/bin/desktop-session herbstluftwm
