Yes, My Dell from 2016 unfortunately has the Dual Intel/nVidia Optimus, and it was a nightmare to get working originally. It took over a year to find a way. But an even worse problem was that as my other computers with nVidia cards aged, the cards became unsupported in the Linux world, and it finally got to where I replaced a couple with AMD cards on the best PC’s and donated the other PC’s off as it wasn’t worth upgrading them. I also have and detest Broadcom WIFI adapters. They are a scourge as bad as nVidia cards. I would suggest anyone looking at buying hardware to first check the Linux hardware compatibility list, and also search the net and the forum here for people reporting difficulties with whatever is being considered.
