Often things that are worthwhile are worth the effort. If any of this work could be scripted, the aspects of checking out the file to be translated and the tasks to check the translations in ought to be something that could be coded, but that is only if those “aspects” are consistent and not subject to a great deal of change. Naturally the version and the release name will be different; those can be parameters (ideally) to the routine, or at the very least, variables in any script or code that could be created. If that stuff ISN’T consistent, the next goal would be to construct something that is consistent and reproducible; this in the long run would reduce effort and increase reliability.
Translations have to be examined by a person; I wouldn’t trust anything automated for that.
