Today in upgrades, an upgrade of mono-runtime appeared and the previous list of several mono packages DISappeared from the apt-get upgrade listing.
Apparently, this is the routine decision making of apt-get when a previously upgradable package no longer becomes upgradable.
I imagine that the mono packages removed from upgrades will reappear there when they are upgraded to compatible versions
