Why comes antiX with all its highly ingenious and sophisticated live functionallity? No worries about hosing your system: Just create a Live USB stick of the same antiX version you have installed, boot into it, do whatever you like, instead of experimenting on your installed antiX. If you hose then something, simply reboot, and everything is back to normal. Once you found out what works and what must be avoided, apply it on your installed antiX (or transfer the result to it). If you run into insufficient RAM issues with live after installing much additional stuff, simply use in between the Live Remaster tool (select “personal” when asked, and let save “home” in it for this purpose) from antiX Control Centre, section Live. After a reboot then you can continue at the very point you paused, now with completely freed up RAM again.
There is no need to waste time with hosing an installed system and laboriously re-installing it just for checking out something. Never again. Just make use of the antiX Live technology wisely for things like that.
