    One more comment relative to the EDT emulation – it’s definitely available in all releases of GNU Emacs. However, in the Doom Emacs configuration I have to exit the Doom configuration and return to the GNU Emacs configuration before I am able to access it normally. That makes sense because just like starting up viper mode, vi mode, Doom is a complete implementation of a collection of modes; EDT is another mode or collection of mode settings.
