I have started testing other than runit inits and have some initial observations.
First, I think this is an amazing project and looking forward to see this project finalized.
In the interim, in this beta phase, I do have a comment or two, regarding behavior:
It seems that all inits might have been hard-coded to slimski as login manager and Connman as network manager.
If slimski is changed to e.g. lightdm, some inits appear to dump the user at the login prompt. No problem because you can log in and start X, so login manager might be considered redundant in this setting, at least initially.
If Connman is changed to network-manager, then connecting to WiFi becomes problematic. No WiFi seen. If Connman prevails for some reason, such as happened for me with s6-rc then might be possible, if still installed. But if Connman is entirely replaced by network-manager then no luck with network.
I would rather see these inits become aware what login manager is in place and what network manager, so it is consistent with runit behavior.
Otherwise, this concept is amazing…
