I didn’t understand why it failed to create the USB because it looked like you were just trying to burn the standard antiX iso file, which shouldn’t be a problem from MX.
Thanks to all of you for your helpful hints, which have certainly helped my essential Linux knowledge grow.
As to what I have done/tried to do was to find or create live versions of as many distros as possible that seemed as to be potential candidates for an eventual move from my current (first) distro, Linux Mint.
In all my activities the term “more than one” had a starring role:
-two versions of Mint (with/without apparmor),
-two distros (Mint and Manjaro),
-two PCs (Acer Aspire and Samsung Book),
-six or seven USB sticks (both old and brand new ones)
-two downloads each of antiX, MX, live usb maker.
The creation of all non-pervasive images worked with Mint, Manjaro could not deal with antiX at all.
Once I found (was told of) distrosea.com, I could deal with those distros from my wish list that I still hadn’t tried quite quickly, and now – for the time being – I can let my search rest.
