I also set less restrictive directory permission on the /root area; I’ve had issues using su or sudo because /root was 700, I made it 744; I’ll take the “risk” in order to be able to use su and sudo more readily. Right now, I changed it by logging into antiX, mounting antiX 25 Beta 2 to /mnt, cd into /mnt/root, and then from sudo su priv from antiX 23.2, I was able to do chown +r /mnt/root, then also chmod +x . from the same directory; that’ll give me enough access to do whatever I might need to do.
