I’ll add that today we had some networking issues at our location. Spectrum, the TV and Internet Service Provider for our site, WAS able to get SOME of it’s services working reasonably quickly, but it took several hours to get it 100% working.
Just before ALL of the services became available once again, I noticed that their service WAS properly handling WPA 3 Personal; maybe that’s why the TV became operational sooner; not sure. MX Linux and my three instances of antiX 23.2 Full Runit, antiX 26 Xfce @farmer respin, and antiX 26 RC1 were all affected. However, I noticed that Endeavour OS WAS NOT affected and I thought that was curious. Actually it was MX Linux where I first noticed the issue, and since Endeavour OS was working, I thought that MX Linux might be defective, so I plugged in my MX Linux USB backup and it was affected too. To diagnose, I put in my Endeavour OS USB and to my surprise, it worked too – but not quite all – I loaded WPA 2 Personal WiFi – did NOT connect, then I noticed they have WPA 2 Personal AND WPA 3 Personal WiFi connections, and that DID work!
So I went to our IT guy and let him know that so he could communicate with Spectrum. No sooner do I get back to my room, I tried antiX 23.2 Full Runit, which has WPA 2 Personal – AND it WORKED. So Spectrum finally cleared up the outage 100%; it was an electrical storm outage, so apparently some lightning strike or power surge damaged some of their equipment; they got it fixed, but it took quite a while.
I ALMOST set up my system with the USB/5G solution between my phone and computer; thankfully I DID NOT have to go through with that hack again; the regular service IS faster when it’s running, and it’s BACK now!
