If those antiX tools are more “goof-proof” than apt and noobies and non techies don’t ever to “rescue/repair” stuff, then that is the perfect solution.
You have experience with various different builds including Sid; the average newbie would be completely lost doing that. Whether new or not, you have the intelligence to experiment and also have a stable system.
I can’t guarantee that any solution is “goof-proof” but the antiX Updater and the Software Installer are button pushing tools that usually do what they’re told as long as a working network is functioning normally. That’s my top suggestion for true newbies, use those tools to manage the system.
