It wouldn’t really have any impact to the default installation, as my suggestion is to just have the repo enabled and officialy supported.
Perhaps another idea is to stop getting firmware from backports & point to stable, with ahs as the alternative “bleeding edge” option.
I doubt it would be of any relevance for old hardware (positive or negative), 32bit will continue to get kernel 5.10 with its modules & drivers from antiX main, there is no new hardware for 32bit which would require newer kernels & firmware from ahs to operate.
