    Well, I’m glad that worked, but still a little confused about why it would be necessary. Modesetting should be the default X11 video driver.

    Just to satisfy my curiosity, would you mind posting another zip file that contains your current Xorg.0.log file and also inxi output again?

    And if you really want to go the extra mile, you could delete that conf file I had you create and try @abc-nix’s suggestion of setting “i915.modeset=1” in GRUB to see if it also works. If it does, I think it’s probably a better way or if it doesn’t you can just again re-create the config in xorg.conf.d.
