I think the safety approach is best (ie., no upgrades).
A question I have, though, is why an update to the init? Is it typically to patch a flaw or to add new functionality?
It seems to me that if it’s working well, it shouldn’t need an upgrade mid-cycle.
And the risk of a “broken computer”, however potentially slight, should be avoided (IMO).
@christophe I don’t know if you have had the opportunity to use antiX 26 or not. I’ve used it during Alpha, Beta, Release Candidate testing and now the antiX 26 release. Only Alpha 1 was limited in capabilities. Beta was actually pretty good; by the Release Candidate 1, at least in my usage it was operating like an every day release. If you have used it, let us know what’s working and what is not working. If you have not tried it, I recommend experimenting with it. If you like it, stick with it; if not, 23.2 has at least another year or two of remaining support; any issues that are reported can be resolved by then. I have not seen any actual detailed reports of problems, so if you or anyone else encounters problems, please write a detailed report, showing how to recreate it and the steps to do so.
