I decided to just install xlibre on my core duo (that is, 32-bit) laptop, because since I installed antiX-26, my games would not run full-screen (though they did run full-screen under antiX-23). The mouse was waay too laggy full-screen, though worked fine in the small default (640×480) window.
I was prepared to reinstall, if I broke my system.
BUT — it fixed the issue! Now I can run these simple games (dosbox, primarily) full-screen again (which is “needed” because the screen is a bit small).
So, for me at least, it is working great, and fixed a problem.
