Jokus aside. Hey, c’mon guys. A bit of html code hasn’t ever killed a tough a passionate translator 🙂
Sure, this needs some time to get familiar with, but in the end you’ll notice these are again and again the same patterns you find inside the entries: Most of the surrounding html code is cut off already automatically by transifex.
The other option would have been to write another script, which replaces each of the, for this script (manually!) extracted, translatable strings in the html files using hundreds of complex sed expressions, mark these replacements in the script for gettext extraction and upload the resulting .pot resource to transifex instead of the .html resource, after (again manually) adding the dev notes to the pot file. Which is what I did for the antiX help videos (these having relatively little changing text on each site, compared with the FAQ; it would simply blow up my budget of spare time completely to repeat that processing for the FAQ, sorry, so no way for me to do it, which is why I decided to give direct html translation at transifex a try for the FAQ, glad to see it working basically.)
After having completed finally the also time consuming emergency rescue operation for the French antiX.x10.mx site, saving it as a whole to the internet archive manually, please allow me taking some breath in between before continuing on this here, providing and featuring the missing detailed string instructions.
