They are not the very latest like the ones in Trixie but they are quite sufficient.
Eventually it would be nice to have nosystemd builds for Trixie too; that’s where I found the problem.
If a workaround is needed maybe I can build it in Slackware. Hopefully it wouldn’t try to drag systemd in there too. They are also good about avoiding such things.

Thank you SO much! I already tried this out on antiX 26 and it works beautifully. I believe that before this exercise I had a Trixie-based Debian package of Emacs installed on Bookworm and it worked, so I’m going to try it there too; if not I’ll use the Bookworm version.
