sysvinit – Just recently installed antix26 trixie on test machine(disk) & eagerly tried runit, but found that I could not get rc.local to reliably do it’s thing. I also (after reading some runit docs (https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/runit-on-antix-bullseye-iso/) set up 2 separate (familiar) runlevels
(runlevel3 – console & runlevel5 – X, copied from default), which seemed to work, but unfortunately when booting into X (5), then “runsvchdir”ing to runlevel3, it switched to console mode as desired, but didn’t kill slimski or X. I did notice that most of the “K##services” are now no longer in sysvinit’s /etc/rc#.d/ directories, but sysvinit seems to handle this ok (along w/executing rc.local). Eventually, I may find time to experiment more w/runit again, but if any other runit’ers can shed some light on this for a crusty old sysvinit’er, I’d definitly like to give runit another go!!
