I’m snagging another download of CachyOS. Given that I’ve put a lot of attention and focus to antiX 25 (turned 26) development efforts, I did not realize how long it’s been since I checked or ran an edition of CachyOS! The last known image I downloaded I dated 11/20/2025 of CachyOS-desktop-linux-2025.
As I’ve said, I truly enjoy antiX and I spend the majority of my time using it, but I do try other distributions from time to time. Two Arch based distributions that I also respect are CachyOS and Endeavour OS. Yesterday I downloaded and installed a fresh instance of Endeavour OS and installed it; not sure than I’m gonna install this one, but I’ve enjoyed trying out CachyOS too; it’s of more interest for those with recent vintage hardware; if that’s you, though like me I hope you still primarily use antiX, but reviewing and trying out other stuff is a good idea; many of the good ideas we’ve had over the years have come from a combination of our own thinking and skills plus a review of the work of others; sometimes other people have good ideas; other times they inspire what we do.
