Ok, many thanks. So you mean & actually, while I guess this explicit full html coding should not be necessary. Doesn’t work && also in JWM for displaying an ampersand in the places you mentioned?
P.S.: The trick to make the tag being printed here in forum properly is adding a zero width blank to it, the same way it can be done to enforce the proper double dash of commands in running text. See https://www.antixforum.com/forums/reply/197128/
I have tested the && workaround suggested, but it displays literally in the menus of JWM, IceWM, and Fluxbox, which is visually unacceptable for a professional application name. It seems that there is no standard way to display a clean “&” character in these menus across all window managers due to the lack of a universal character encoding or escape mechanism that is both XML-compliant and renderer-independent.
