Hi Senpai, in my screenshot (see below) with default design you can clearly see that the font is changed (non-serif/serif and variable-spaced/monospaced font) for the inline code (compare character “ℓ”). It is also in yours, but you have obviously overlooked this detail in your 4th screenshot, while it is there when looking carefully. My second screenshot shows how the code tag is rendered in Links2. Here no differentiation between serife/non-serife can be observed, but an even more distinct differentiation by the applied monospaced font width for the tag within running text.

Generally this seems to describe various methods of placing a symbol on the desktop, but I also fail to get from your quotes what therein precisely is asked to do, and since I don’t use desktop symbols at all, I don’t have any experience with this procedure.
