Thanks @ppc , re-trying Linux so totally relevant. Give me a batch file to write and I’m good though, so I’ll muddle this learning through.

Fact of Life: Software has Bugs.

I’ve about a dozen laptops sitting here, many still have good batteries, so keen to put the best bits together, some of the smaller SSD drives perhaps and send them out for a new lease on life – some are prep’d with Ubuntu – but ones like this Vaio -which has a 4-5 hr battery in a very nice small form factor deserves a second life!
