Nice idea. We have experimented with automated translation already, but the results were not convincing. Have a look at my git (.pot/.po and .desktop), we started with bashscript and proceeded with pyton, which speeds up things remarkably, but the results of the automated translation subfunctions still are not of much use. Unfortunately I’m not a true programmer (while having learned Fortran F77 many years ago as part of studying engineering in another sector but IT, hardware or software). I have no idea about CI/CD processes nor object oriented programming languages, so I won’t qualify for chiming in to your project, sorry.
Btw, have you noticed your former postings have been moved to another separate thread meanwhile? There I have already raised some questions concerning AI translation. How can you make sure the AI translations won’t sound ridiculous to native speakers of a language, or e.g. blatantly invert the original meaning, like I regularly observe when running the automatic translator in the antiX translators room at IRC (#antiX-translators on IRC Network Libera.Chat, you may join by using antiX preinstalled hexchat)? Please note, there will come an updated enc.py script version for python 3.13.5 as present on antiX 26 very soon now, fixing some changed syntax requirements from python3 as present in antiX 23. I’m test-running the update currently. If I’m not mistaken the translation errors and inacceptably mangled meaning result precisely because google applies AI here. How could we expect better results from your bot?
